Theatre Club offers drama scholarship

The Harstine Island Theatre Club will award a $500 scholarship this year. Scholarship application packets are available at North Mason and Mary M. Knight High Schools, as well as Olympic College in Shelton. They are also available at the Shelton, Hoodsport and Belfair branches of the public library.

Completed applications are due by August 1 and may be mailed to the Scholarship Committee, Harstine Island Theatre Club, 220 E. Wilson Road, Shelton, 98584.

Notification of the scholarship is usually made by August 15. The recipient receives funds after successfully completing the fall quarter of college work. Eligible applicants must be high-school graduates residing in Mason County who are enrolled full time in an accredited college, university or school of theater arts or related field.

The scholarship committee will review the previous training of all applicants, as well as their experience in theater "arts or related areas of study.
