Not everyone recognizes the symptoms of a heart attack or stroke or reacts quickly enough to save a life in this critical time.

Mason General Hospital and Family of Clinics wants to prepare the community with a watchful eye and the ability to act, by offering a free adult, child and infant Basic Life Support CPR class to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 9 in MGH's Learning Center, located next to McDonald's on Olympic Highway North.

All members of the community are invited to this class, which will demonstrate the proper technique for adult, child and infant CPR and review the symptoms of heart attack and stroke. Everyone attending the class is asked to wear comfortable clothes, and a Spanish interpreter will be made available on request.

Advanced registration is required, as class size is limited. Pre-register by Friday, June 3 by calling the MGH&FC Learning Center at 427-3609. This is not a First Aid class.
