The Gathering Restaurant and Bar is holding an all-you-can-eat Spring Fling Cookout on Sunday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The event will also feature a live band, The Toucan Eddy Band, and dancing on The Gathering's outside patio from 2 until 5 p.m. is free to attendees.

Toucan Eddy has been entertaining audiences in Northern Arizona for three decades.

Patrons have been dancing and enjoying their "rhythm and roll" style of covers and originals since singer/songwriter Bert Campbell purchased the famous Old Creek Tavern in Sedonain 1980.

The band became the house band and also traveled around the state playing rhythm and blues, rock and roll, funk, Latin grooves and country rock in various clubs.

Dale Caddell, the original lead' guitar player, is back with the band after spending 15 years performing with local favorite Limbs Akimbo.

Campbell sold the tavern and the band didn't play together for nearly 10 years before reuniting in the 1990s.

Michael Reed, saxophonist, guitarist and vocalist, is another well-known musician in the area. He has been a member of Toucan Eddy for 12 years and he also plays with the group The Knuckleheads.

Soulful singer and bassist Teddy Rocha, the newest member of band, has been performing locally for several years with groups including Major Lingo and Combo Deluxe. Rounding out the band is accomplished drummer Clay Harper, another veteran Arizona musician and member of The Neon Raiders.

Toucan Eddy released a CD entitled "Mango Pie" 10 years ago and Campbell also recorded a solo CD. Toucan Eddy, now calling themselves The Tukes, is planning to go back into the studio this summer to record an all original CD including dance songs, ballads and songs with a "message." After nearly 30 years, the legend of Toucan Eddy continues on. The band is still regarded as one of the premier bands performing in Northern Arizona, according to a press release.

The Gathering Restaurant & Bar is located in Cliff Castle Casino.

Cliff Castle Casino is located just east of 1-17 at exit 289. For more information, please call the Castle Club at 567-7999.
