In response to Linda Carabell's letter in the Aug. 27 edition of the Sedona Red Rock News, "Ugly discrimination in a beautiful place, " I am grateful that Carabell brought to our attention the changes in Sedona as a result the recent immigration law. I agree and am amazed how noticeable these changes are.

In trying to answer Carabell's question concerning what is happening to the people in Arizona who agree with this new law, it may be a result of how misleading words are from the radio, TV ads, and pundits who pretend to be experts with their strong points of view. We can easily get stuck and conditioned with a certain way of thinking, as these words are repeated constantly throughout the days and weeks. It's like being stuck on the scratched part of a DVD that keeps going back to the same spot -- the same way of thinking and doing things. It takes some cleaning to shift off the glitch and see the picture clearly.

With Tuesday, Nov. 2, getting closer and the candidates lining up for election, it is important that we, the voters, see clearly and look past the barrage of negative propaganda to select those candidates who will best serve the interests of our city, our state and our country. And we will all be winners.
