Studio Live is pleased to welcome back renowned international recording artist Chris Spheeris, performing original vocal and instrumental music with multi-instrumentalist Eric Zang and cellist Courtney Yeates. The trio will perform shows during the Labor Day weekend from Friday through Sunday, Sept. 3 through 5. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m.

Spheeris promises an intimate evening of music, song, poetry, and storytelling, according to a press release. He will be joined by Zang and Yeates, who both performed for his "Songbook Live" CD earlier this year.

Zang, a multi-instrumentalist with an emphasis in percussion, is an avid explorer of traditional music from around the world. Much of his experience has been within flamenco music, as a percussionist, and in Middle Eastern music, playing the kaval flute and oud lute. The public is invited to come to the show to hear Zang's contributions to the evening.

Yeates is an accomplished cellist whose talent on multiple instruments has made her a sought-after studio musician.

Classically trained, but inclined toward experimentation, she has accompanied musicians from all over the world at venues ranging from intimate coffee houses to internationally televised arena shows with Grammy Award-winning artists.

Smooth, sultry at times, Yeates demonstrates the soul of the instrument -- outright and pure, according to a press release.

Tickets are $20. Advance tickets are available online for $15, at Golden Word Books and Music, or by calling 282-2688. Studio Live is located at 215 Coffee Pot Drive.

Studio Live is an intimate performance space centrally located in Sedona where members of the Sedona Performers Guild, as well as touring artists, showcase their craft.
