A Funeral service for Barbara E. Monson was held Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point Wl.

Barbara E. Monson, age 56, of 3917 Doolittle Dr. Stevens Point, died unexpectedly at home due to natural causes September 5, 2009.

Barbara was born November 21, 1952 to Leif and Darlene (Blackman) Monson in Minneapolis, MN. Her family settled in Walnut Grove, MN where she attended the local schools and graduated high school. Barbara later attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis,

Barbara lived in various locations including: Minneapolis, MN, Denver, CO, and Phoenix, AZ. She worked for several companies as public relations professional. Due to illness, she later settled in Stevens Point to be with her family.

Barbara had a special rapport with people which was reflected in her work. She poured everything into her job and public relations. Barbara also enjoyed traveling, especially visiting the mountains. She liked animals and would often volunteer at the Humane Society. Barbara enjoyed music, and in earlier years, like to play piano.

Survivors include mother, Darlene Monson of Stevens Point; brother, Stephen (Carolyn) Monson of Glendale, AZ; sister, Deborah (Tim) Williams of Green Bay; uncles & aunts; many nieces & nephews; and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her father, Leif; and grandparents.
