School leaders last district noted nationally

Soap Lake schools, formerly led by John Adkins, who took over last July as superintendent of the Ne-spelem School District, were ranked with a bronze medal by U.S.News & World Report in that publication's annual national ranking of schools, Dec. 9.

The magazine's "2010 U.S.News & World Report America's Best High Schools" ranking of the grades 6-12 school in Soap Lake "is based on the key principles that a great high school must serve all its students well, not just those who are collegebound, and that it must be abje to produce measurable academic outcomes to show the school is Successfully educating its student body across a range of performance indicators," the magazine says.
