The Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce named its "Achiever of the Year" and "Business of the Year" at its annual luncheon Thursday at PepperJack's.

Named as achiever of the year was Tammy Norris. She is an owner of H&H Grocery in Electric City, active in Colorama and has helped significantly in the chamber's own wine-tasting and auction event held each December.

Norris is an aide in the office at Grand Coulee Dam Middle School, and in Colorama she has been active in organizing that celebration's parade.

Norris was introduced and presented with a plaque by Birdie Hensley, last year's achiever of the year.

Les Schwab Tires was named as "Business of the Year." The business was singled out for its support of community events, its interest in supporting sporting events and for its unique customer service record. The presentation was made by last year's business of the Year represen-tative Sjana Bird, manager of North Cascades National Bank.

Assistant Manager Phil Torres received the chamber plaque on behalf of manager Terry Strawn who was unable to attend the luncheon.

The annual luncheon also included the installation of officers for 2010. Scott Hunter continues as president; Jim Pachosa is vice president; Karrie Utz is secretary, and Sjana Bid is treasurer.

Board directors are Tim Ailing, Bill Black, Rick King, Kathy Baty and Jean Comstock. Baty and Comstock are new to the board.
