Many file in tribal primary

Twenty-two candidates have filed for the primary election for Colville Business Council positions.

The two candidates for Position 1, in the Nespelem District, incumbent Harvey Moses, Jr., and Matthew Dick, Jr., will move on to the general election since there are only two vying in that race.

For Nespelem District Position 2, Gene H. Joseph is seeking re-election and is running against Victoria Lynn Circle, Marie A. Covington and Ricky Gabriel.

For Keller District Position 1, incumbent Jeanne A. Jerred will run against Julie A. Edwards, Sylvia Tatshama Peasley and Henry (Hobo) Stensgar.

In the Inchelium District Position 1, incumbent Juaniita Warren and Douglas J. Seymour will move on to the general election. Only a single candidate, incumbent Michael O. Finley, is seeking Position 2.

Position 1 in the Omak District has attracted five candidates to go against incumbent Carlene Anderson. They are Lavada Anderson-Fry, Ted Bessette, George James Marchand, Cherie Moomaw and Fawn Swan.

In the Omak District, Ernie A.

Williams is seeking re-election to Position 2 against Darlene J. Burke and Lisa Nicholson-True.

The primary election will be May 1, and the general election, June 12.
