Lois Rawley

The Star of Grand Coulee, Washington

Lois Rawley passed away Friday, April 2, 2010. She was born in Eaton-ville to Charles and May Simmons.

She was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and sister in Christ. She brought a smile to all! Lois graduated from Coulee Dam "Mason City" in 1944. She worked for the United States Bureau of Reclamation, Columbia Basin Project, as a clerk-typist for 18 years. After retiring she continued to live life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, camp-ing, fishing, playing cards, wood gathering, mushroom and huckleberry picking, gardening, walking on the beach, dancing, playing the piano, entertaining, cooking and motorcycling.

She is preceded in death by her baby brother Robert, mother May Edith, father Charles Robert and sister Virginia May Rust.

Lois is survived and missed by her husband Wayne Rawley, Gresham, Ore., daughters Janet Heins, Peoria, Ariz.; Joan Smith, Chico, Calif.; Judi Chen, Anthem, Ariz.; and son David Carley, Gresham, Ore., nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service for Lois will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 17, 2010, at Metro Church of Christ, 1525 NW Division, Gresham, Ore. 97030. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Metro Church of Christ in memory of Lois Rawley.

A graveside service will follow this spring at Spring Canyon Cemetery, Grand Coulee, time to be announced. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. - Acts 4:12 NIV
