Connie S. McDonald

The Star of Grand Coulee, Washington

Connie S. (Emerson) McDonald died Saturday, June 5, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Kalispell, Mont., April 19,1958, she is the daughter of William and Betty Emerson of Green-acres, Wash. She attended East Valley High School in Spokane, graduating in 1976.

Connie married Howard McDonald June 20, 1983, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Spokane, and the couple had twin sons, Taylor and Travis. The couple has made their home in Coulee City for many years. Connie always enjoyed following her boys' activities in school, and was especially proud when both finished college this year.

Connie worked for Mid State Bank / North Cascade National Bank of Coulee City. Before moving to Coulee City, she had worked for Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska and Mac's Radiator in Boise, Idaho. She was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church of Coulee City.

Connie is survived at home by her loving husband Howard McDonald; her two sons, Taylor and Travis McDonald of Coulee City; her mother, Betty Emerson of Greenacres; Bob Emerson,Scotsdale Ariz., Marlene Walsh, Florence, Mont., Sharon LeCaire, Kettle Falls, Bill Emerson, Port Ludlow, Fred Emerson, Hartline, Betty Bechtol, Wail-uku, Hawaii, and Tom Emerson, Mesa, Ariz.,

Her father William Emerson, one brother Jim Emerson and one sister Mary Pat Patterson, preceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements are with Waterville Funeral Home. Father Robert Himes will be the celebrant for funeral Mass at the Presbyterian Church in Coulee City, on Thursday, June 10 at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at Mold Cemetery, Coulee City at a later date. Honorary pallbearers include Bob Emerson, Monte Le Caire, Bill Emerson, Fred Emerson, Ray Bechtol, and Tom Emerson.

"Thank you to Hospice for all their care and help." Connie will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother that was devoted to her family.
