Electric City has grown another 80 acres.

The Snyder annexation approved at Electric City's last council meeting brings the city to nearly 1900 acres, largest in the area.

The Snyder petition for annexation has gone through a two-year nightmare, but city officials and Wayne Snyder have ironed out resolutions of a street problem and the relocation of a sewer line.

The conditions of annexation, listed in the ordinance, give Snyder 90 days to resolve a sewer line problem where the line was installed over Bureau of Reclamation property. It also requires that the private roads that serve residents in the area be changed to public roads and that the city will not improve the roads unless it is through a local improvement district.

The city has offered, at its discretion, to chip seal the former county road serving the property, when funds are available.

The ordinance also states that all future land development within the annexed area must conform to all city development standards that are in place at the time.

Snyder indicated earlier that he plans to build two to three new homes.
