Police are investigating a cyber-harassment and an e-mail death threat against a Grand Coulee woman that started several days ago.

Two of the e-mail harassment messages were from one address and a third was from a separate address.

The woman told police that she sent responses to the three e-mails.

The police report stated that the e-mails were allegedly from a person who was hired to kill the woman.

The e-mail apparently was an attempt to extort money from the woman, and the sender asked for $2,000 now and $13,000 later when he presented tapes of who hired him to do the job. The message stated she was being watched by the hit man's associates.

The e-mail message further stated that she would be killed if she didn't comply. There was even a warning to the woman not to contact the police or the hit would be extended to the woman's family, as well.

Police stated that they are following up the e-mail addresses of the sender.
