Valerie "Jeanie" Lane, born Oct. 27, 1946, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009. She was born in Glasgow, Mont, to Benjamin Sergent Sr. and Mertyl Sergent.

Jeanie was well known in the community for her work in the local clothing bank in Coulee Dam and later in Keller. She was a loving friend to all, and desired to minister the love of Jesus Christ into the lives of those she came in contact with by showing His love through her actions. She was diligent in doing everything she could to meet the needs of those in the community that had fallen upon hard times, or who may have just needed a hand up in life at that time. Her door was always open. She was a friend to all. Jeanie was known for her "hugs", when you received a hug from Jeanie, you knew it was genuine, and from the heart. Jeanie loved crafts, and especially doing crafts with her grandkids, and many children in the region that knew her as Grandma Jeanie. She also loved to go to yard sales.

Jeanie, I hope you know how much you were and are loved, how many lives you touched, how many hearts you impacted, and the garden of love you planted in your wake.
