A Clarkston, Wash., man and three of his four passengers ended up in trouble when their car was stopped for speeding on SR-174.

The driver, Nicholas B. Scarano, 18, was stopped for going 45 mph in a 35 mph zone, and officers found he was driving on a suspended license. He was also cited for not having insurance.

In trying to find one of the passengers who had a valid license, the officer found a 17-year-old from Lewiston, Idaho, allegedly in possession of marijuana and a smoking device. His case has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office for action.

The officer returned to the car again, attempting to find a licensed driver, and the three remaining passengers got out of the car.

Another 18-year-old, Chase R. King, also of Lewiston, said he had a valid driver's license, but didn't know how to drive a stick shift. He later was arrested for possession of marijuana and a smoking pipe.

A fourth man, Matthew Fronk, 18, of Lewiston, admitted to having marijuana and a smoking device in his possession, and was also arrested.

The fifth person in the car was not cited and was permitted to drive the car after the other four were processed by police.
