The Grand Coulee Dam School District board hired four people and accepted two gifts to the district Monday night.

They hired Lona Simpson as a speech therapist under a temporary contract.

Others hired under supplementary contracts were Mary Schilling as the Navigator 101 program facilitator; Cathy Krohn as Lake Roosevelt High School Navigator 101 coordinator; and Nate Piturach-satit as Grand Coulee Dam Middle School Navigator 101 coordinator. All of the Navigator positions pay $2,452 for the year, with the cost covered by a grant.

Gifts to the district include a $150 donation to the middle school annual staff for their help at the Grand Columbian Triathlon, and $175 donation to the middle school for the use of their football field and showers for triathlon campers.
