Sheehy in top 10 in half marathon

A Lake Roosevelt High School graduate, Kevin Sheehy, placed ninth out of 4,817 runners in the Big Sur half marathon (13.1 miles) Sunday.

In placing ninth, Sheehy, 40, placed first in his age group, finishing in 1:10:29.

He is a member of the Greater Boise Running Club and placed first in a March 14 race in Boise. He took a second in the Harvest Classic run in Nampa, Idaho, and was first in the Barber to Boise 10K run in October.

Sheehy regularly runs in the Bloomsday run in Spokane and, since 2000, has placed from 23rd to 62nd.
