Every year, leaders and innovators in Technology, Education and Design gather to share the latest information on cutting edge thinking around the world. Videos of their short lectures and demonstrations are available on the web - and now at Crook County Library in Sundance.

When people think about libraries, the first thought that comes to mind is "books," but what libraries are really all about is "information." The mission statement for Crook County Library says, "The Crook County Public Library System enables the people of Crook County to cherish their history and expand their personal horizons through free and easily accessible information and services." In order to fulfill that mission and meet the needs of our patrons we provide books & other reading materials, computers with free internet access, online subscription databases, humanities and children's programming, outreach services, meeting room space, and much more. We currently have two book discussion groups, but would also like to generate discussion on issues of the day, information, science, and technology.

With that in mind, the TED Discussion Group will meet on Wednesday, September 16 at 12 noon for a one-hour exploration in the latest in science and critical thinking. We will view one or two talks and have time for open discussion. If there is interest in continuing as a monthly group we can change the date and time to whatever meets the needs of the group.
