Linda M. Lujan, 82, went to her Lord on March 31, 2010. She died ' at Mountain Vista Hospital in Mesa. She was born in Costilla, New Mexico, on February 18, 1928, to Adolfo and Caroline Valdez. She grew up in Costilla, enjoying her large family of nine, making her the tenth child.
In her early years, she traveled, and lived in New York City and San Francisco. Her mid-life brought her to Utah, where she worked at the Toole Utah Proving Grounds as an assembler. She, then, lived in Phoenix with her uncle, who was a pharmacist. In 1957, she came to live in Superior, for 19 years, and then moved to Portland for 20 years, and then moved back to Arizona. She was in Superior for the past seven years, until her death.
She is survived by her three sons, Richard (Barbara), Steve (Claudia) of Superior, and Dale (Rene) of Portland, Oregon; sister, Irma (Joe) Urquijo; brothers Mike and Robert Valdez; 38 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Linda had wonderful friends who were her landlords, Ed and Kiyoko Garcia; both of them were there for her needs. She loved having beautiful flowers in her yard, and planting vegetables. She enjoyed trout fishing with her family. In early years she enjoyed going with her sons, hunting for deer, quail, dove and rabbits. She lived to her fullest, until she became ill. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and sister. We will truly miss her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17, at Saint Francis of Assisi in Superior, at 11 a.m.
