On Monday, April 19, Superior played their last home game of the season against Veritas Prep. Both boys' and girls' teams gave it their all to provide local fans with a super show.

It was a fast game for the boys. The Panthers started off the game batting twice around the order, putting up 11 runs right off the bat. Nestor Delgado managed to hit a home run bringing the score to 17-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Veritas, then, put three runs on the board off a couple of good hits. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to catch up with the Panthers. The final score was 19-6. Martin Granillo throws totaled five, giving up only four earned runs and striking out eight.

For the Lady Panthers, Ana Campos hit a home run not only once but twice. Many of the other girls had good rips and brought in player after player. The Lady Panthers also stepped it up on their defense and turned the first double play of the season assisted by Dominique Castillo and turned by Adrian Hernandez and the final score was 19-10. Following the game, there was a short ceremony for the seniors of Superior's team.

The consecutive day, the Lady Panthers traveled solo to Salt River to face the Eagles. Because the girls had lost to the Eagles before, they were more than determined to defeat them. They were quick to score on nice hits. Campos hit yet another home run, stirring up the girls' excitement. Throughout the whole game, the girls stayed in it and had few errors. The final score was 22-11, Panthers.

On Friday, April 23, the Lady Panthers were up first to face the Gilbert Christian Knights at the Big League Dreams Field, which is an exact replica of the Chase Ballpark. Christine Grap hit a home run and Janae Perez almost hit a home run, but the ball got stuck in the fence so she was forced to stay at third. Not too long after Perez' delay stole home, earning her a point for the Lady Panthers. They continued to play their game and won with a score of 33-5. Because it was the last game of their season, the girls decided to celebrate by dumping the water jug on their coach, giving the crowd a good laugh.

The boys also got off to a good start. Gabe Serrano scored on an overthrow and Delgado brought in two players. They played not only hard offense but also hard defense. Manuel Ortega made an attempt out by diving for a tag at the player but he was called safe. Martin Granillo threw a runner out at second, ending the second inning. In the fourth inning, Granillo ripped it up the middle to bring in two RBIs. It was 8-2 in the fifth inning, but the Knights managed to play catch-up putting out three more runs. In the seventh inning, Granillo relieved Ortega at pitching and finished it with a score of 18-5.

Both boys and girls are number one in their conference and will play regionals next week on April 30 to get seated for the State Championship
