Rosalie Josephine Cooley

Rosalie Josephine Cooley, 71, passed away at her home in Superior on Tuesday, May 18,2010, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Florence, Arizona, Jan. 31,1939, the daughter of Salvador and Magdelena Hernandez.

She lived in Superior for more than 50 years and was a member of the St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Church of Superior. Her family and friends remember her as very quiet. She was happy being a homemaker and a domestic engineer. Her passions included seamstress, cooking and spending time with her family.

Rosalie leaves behind in loving memory her husband of 51 years, Benjamin "Ben" Cooley Sr.; sons, Benjamin "Benny" Cooley Jr. of Chandler and Timothy A. Cooley of Golden, Colorado; her brother, Manuel "Sonny" Zapata of Casa Grande; sisters, Mary Hernandez of Casa Grande, Isabel Lopez of Superior, Annie Gomez of Phoenix; and two grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son. John Cooley.

Services were held at St. Frances of Assisi Church in Superior, Arizona on Friday, May 21, with the Rosary i 2 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m.

The family was assisted by Superio Funeral Home.
