The family of a young boy who died in an accident here four years ago has made it their mission to spread the word on All Terrain Vehicle safety for all ages. They have formed an organization to do just that and held their first fund-raising carwash event in the Los Hermanos parking lot last Saturday.

Regina Snyder of Tucson expressed the family's gratitude to the restaurant for the use of the lot, and to the town of Superior and for the 'embrace of the citizens.'

She said that she lost her son, Benjamin Allen Snyder in an ATV accident in Superior on Sept. 16, 2007. "He was 12'/2 years old. Since the loss of my son, we have wanted to help spread the word of ATV safety awareness and how dangerous ATVs are, especially to children," she said.

"With the help of many people we are now underway," she said. "We have established a corporation called Interstate 4 Your Life, which we feel is properly named for such a cause. We will be traveling the interstate speaking to children about ATV safety awareness and where to go to get professional instruction," she said.

But the greatest goal, she explained, is to prevent the loss of life.

"With these efforts we plan to not only collect donations and sponsorships, but to honor Benjamin's life through the Benjamin Allen Snyder Foundation," Snyder said. "With this foundation, monies raised are going to assist other families with both medical and benevolence costs due to ATV accidents," she said.

The organization is fairly new, she said, but the group has been working hard to get a website and other information provided to the public. "If anyone has any questions," she said, "or would like more information on how they can support our . campaign, please contact us at our e-mail address, atvawareness(r) gmail.com. or by phone at 520-48-6416 or 520-243-3500."
