Arrest made in conjunction with 2009 alleged homicide case

Superior resident Fredrick Nunez, age 32, was arrested by the Superior Police June 15 on an outstanding Pinal County Superior Court warrant.

According to police, the warrant alleged first degree murder in the Daniel Pena homicide that occurred in March, 2009 in Superior. Nunez was booked into the Cochise County Jail.

The arrest was a result of a joint effort between the U.S. Marshals Office, Pinal County Attorney's Office and the Superior Police Department.
