FLORENCE, AZ - The Pinal County Board of Supervisors announced the hire of Tim Kanavel as Economic Development Manager in November 2009. A key part of Pinal County's 'face' to the outside world is its website. On Wednesday, the Board of Supervisors previewed the brand new Pinal County Economic Development website.

"This site is designed to be a company or site selector's desktop tour of the county, its infrastructure, assets, demographics and more. We even link to the county's GIS system to give people the ability to do more detailed research," Kanavel explained. "We will use this site to make a strong case for locating or relocating a business to Pinal County."

The Pinal County main website's header has five main "channels" under which related information is grouped. Channels include Residents, Visitors, Business, Government and now Economic Development. You can also access the site with the shortcut www.PinalEconD.org. "Before building this site, we researched other leading economic development organizations and viewed their websites," Kanavel said. "We wanted to be sure our new site could speak to the needs of the new or emerging business, established business or site selection firm. What we have now is among the best and most visually interesting websites." At the bottom of the page is a ticker showing logos of the county's major employers. When you click on one of those logos, you go to the Success Stories page that tells a little bit about each enterprise and its history in the county. Other pages explain incentives and programs like the Enterprise Zone, Foreign Trade Zone and Priority Express Permitting process. "Because we wanted the site to answer the needs of entrepreneurs as well, there are 'Getting Started' pages under the Business Connections tab as well," Kanavel said.

Pinal County maintains and updates its website with all the latest information to keep you informed on economic development, road conditions, public health, public works projects and other important information. Visit and bookmark www.pinalcountyaz.gov to stay informed.
