The town of Superior has released a statement to the media regarding the resignation of Finance Director Aja DeZeeuw from her position effective October 23.

According to the statement, DeZeeuw gave notice to the town on October 1 that she would resign effective October 29. Since then, the statement reads, DeZeeuw has changed the date to the 23rd.

DeZeeuw has expressed her interest in enrolling in Pima Medical Institute's Veterinary Assistant program. "I think it's time for me to think about a career change, and nothing would make me happier than being able to work with needy and injured animals on a daily basis," she said. "I hope that this transition will also allow the town to find someone very well experienced in cash flow management to fill this position. I appreciate the opportunity that the position gave me to be able to return to the town that I love."
