Jesus David "Jess" Gomez

Jesus David "Jess" Gomez, 58 passed away on the early morning hours of October 8, 2009.

Called "Jess" but also known as "David," he was born in Superior on June 17, 1951. He was preceded in death by his father, Jess Medina Gomez, his sons Adam David Gomez and Jarod Timothy Gomez, and grandson Ryan Spencer Dugan.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Alta M. Gomez; they married in Florence, Arizona on October 21, 1973. He was also survived by his children Thomas C. Weaver-"Sunshine," Angel B. Dugan-"Ryan," Jessica R. Gomez-Johnston-"Jeremy," Betina J. Gomez, Audra N. Espy-"Lawrence," Jacob A. Gomez, and Jonathan E. Gomez. Survivors also include his mother Adeline Arney-"Ben," his brothers and sisters Luci Gomez Baird-"Dennis," Philip Gomez-"Debbie," Edward Gomez, Teresa Romero-"Geronimo" and Debbie Gomez, as well as many more family members and friends.

He will be deeply loved and greatly missed by all.

He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War from 1969 through 1972. He was a "people person" who did not know a stranger and he talked with everyone. If he crossed paths with anyone who needed assistance, he would jump right in and do all he could to help. His family was his life and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
