Ficks Brown Swiss champions at State Fair

Iowas top dairies competed for top honors in the Brown Swiss Dairy Cattle show judged Friday, August 14, at the 2009 Iowa State Fair.

Ficks Swiss owned by Galen and Sandy, from Boyden, received several honors.

Ficks Swiss took first in the Summer Yearling Heifer catagory; second in the Junior Yearling Heifer; first in the Senior Yearling Heifer (not in milk); first in Junior Best Three Females; fourth in Junior 2-Year-Old Cow; third in Senior 2-Year-Old Cow; fourth in Senior 3-Year-Old Cow; third in Aged Cow; third in Best Three Head; second in Best Four Head and Champion in the Junior Female
