Laura Bell

Shanks, 89, of Bremen, died at 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14 at Maple Manor Healthcare Center in Greenville.

She was born on July 3, 1921 in Muhlenberg County, was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was a preceded in death by her husband, Claude Marvin Shanks; three sons, Randall, Wendell and Robert Shanks; two sisters, Ava Nell Stovall and Jewell Nelson; a granddaughter, Lisa Vincent; and a brother, Jessie Shanks.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Junior Lee and Dorothy Shanks of

Central City; sixgrandchil-dren, Teresa Joines of

Central City, Tony Shanks of Greenville and Beth. Hoeft, Robbie Shanks, Kathy Keeling and Angle Vincent of Bremen; 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Betty Shanks of Bremen.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Gary W. Joines officiating. Burial was in Corley Chapel Cemetery in Graham.
