Enrollment at the Muhlenberg County Campus of Madisonville Community College appears to be increasing as it enters its eighth year of operation.

"Enrollment at the Muhlenberg County Campus appeared to have leveled off last year, but we expect enrollment to reach a new high of approximately 800 students for the fall semester," said George Humphreys, extended campus director.

FASTEST GROWING

The increase on the Muhlenberg County Campus is similar to that experienced at MCC overall. MCC has been named one of the 50 fastest growing community colleges in its enrollment category for the past two years.

Early tallies indicate MCC enrollment will be up nearly 300 this semester, partly as students return to upgrade their work skills during the sluggish economy.

Penny Jessup, student affairs specialist at the Muhlenberg County Campus, says that many classes were filled by the end of registration and the parking lot is jammed daily.
