Louise M. Studer, 87, dies; was Drakesboro city clerk

Louise Marie Studer, 87, of Drakesboro, died at 12 noon on Monday, Aug. 31 in Muhlenberg Community Hospital.

Born July 22, 1922 in Lincoln City, Ind., the daughter of Victor L.

Kleeman and Lena Simpson Kleeman Ligon. She was the city clerk and tax collector for 12 years in Drakesboro.

She was also the past-president of the Democrat Women's Club, Greenville Business and Professional Women's Club. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5478 Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star No. 489. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 54 years, Conrad Studer Sr., on Oct. 8, 1994.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Tom Jacks of Clarksville, Tenn., Marsha and Dick Barnhart of Evansville, Ind.; one son and daughter-in-law, Conrad (Joe) and Vonelda Studer Jr. of Drakesboro; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-greatgrandchild and nine step-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Stofeth of Evansville and Imogene Johnson of Newburgh, Ind.; one brother, Leroy Kleeman of Santa Claus, Ind.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gary's Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Highway Cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday).
