Two men were injured while paragliding near Hwy 228 between Brownsville and Crawfordsville, when the paraglider clipped a power line, according to Dave Opel of the Linn County Sheriff's Office. Frank McCubbin of Crawfordsville, 77, and a passenger, Hayden Davis of Lebanon, 16, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Davis was treated and released, while McCubbin was transported to Corvallis Good Samaritan Hospital by REACH helicopter. He was released the next morning.

The Ken Sayer farm was the location for the Paragliders Fly-in for the 5th year over the last weekend in August. "We have the largest gathering since we started," says Gary Cosen-tino, who says he inherited the leadership and organization of the event from Ken Sayer. "We started out with 15 rigs and this year have 45," he added.
