Congratulations to the Tri-County News

The Tri-County News took home another award at this year's Minnesota Newspaper Associa-tion convention. This year, it was the "Best Self-Promotion Adver-tisement" category, and we were judged among a larger group of newspapers up to double our cir-culation.

Sue Hughes, our multiple award-winning graphic designer, took second place for an ad she created in last year's Business Tab in March.

There were only six awards in this category, from among weekly and daily newspapers across Min-nesota. The Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association judged this year's contest.

The judges had this to say: "The message is clear - this newspa-per represents their community in every way. They support the com-munity, and they ask the residents to support each other as well."

Sue has more than 20 years of professional experience in design and advertising. She has a degree from Brown College (with hon-ors), and worked at the St. Cloud Times for many years. She has won a number of awards for her var-ious ads and ad campaigns, and she has won awards for the Tri-County News each year that she's been with us.

We're thrilled to have had Sue on our staff for several years now. She brings fresh and vibrant ideas and designs to our ads of all sizes. And she's been invaluable to the several special issues we produce each year.
