Libbesmeier graduates CSB

Mandy Libbesmeier, daughter of Dennis and Deborah Libbesmeier of Watkins, participated in the commencement ceremony at the College of St. Benedict Saturday, May 8. It took place in the Haehn Campus Center/Clemens Field House on the CSB campus, St. Joseph. Libbesmeier is a candidate to receive a bachelor of science degree in nursing with the honor magna cum laude. Magna.cum laude indicates a grade point average of 3.75-3.89.

Elizabeth Alexander, poet, professor and chair of the Department of African American Studies at Yale University, delivered the keynote address. Ashley Ver Burg, an environmental studies major from River Falls, Wis., was the student commencement speaker, as selected by this year's CSB senior class.

The 2010 CSB graduating class included 494 women, which is the second largest class in school history.
