Stearns County Sheriff's Office was called Tuesday, evening, Sept. 22, for a 17-year-old girl that reported she was assaulted by a former boyfriend. The girl said that she had recently broken off a relationship with Kelvin West, age 18, of St. Cloud. He entered her home, uninvited, and threatened to choke her. He picked her up from a sofa, threw her to the floor and then dragged her outside. The girl tried to call 911, but West took the phone away from her. Other people in the home called 911. West left the property when the girl's father drove into the driveway.

Deputies searched for Kelvin West until he agreed to meet a deputy after 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in St. Cloud. West was arrested and is being held in the Stearns County Jail. He is tentatively being held on charges of first-degree burglary, domestic assault, terroristic threats, obstructing the legal process, and interfering with a 911 call.
