Theft in Rockville

Thursday, Nov. 5, Capital Granite of Rockville reported a theft in progress. An individual was seen stealing large steel racks from behind the business. An employee was able to get the license number of the pickup involved. Information was given to the 911 dispatcher and broadcast to law enforcement. Waite Park Police located the truck coming out of a private driveway on the south end of the city. With assistance from the MN State Patrol, the truck was stopped and the driver was identified as John Jay Czech, age 44, of Oak Park. The racks were located, with numerous large pieces of steel. Czech was arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail. The Sheriff's Office is trying to locate the owner(s) of the steel pieces. Anyone with information is asked to call the Stearns County Sheriffs Office at (320) 251-4240.
