JoAnne Kock

JoAnne Kock, 72, formerly of Sherman County, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born August 16, 1936, at Sandy, Oregon, the daughter of Henry Ten Eyck and Mae Moore Ten Eyck.

She attended elementary and high school at Sandy and graduated in 1954. On Oct. 23, 1954, she married Alfred T. 'Bud' Kock, and they raised four children. She was a housewife until the late 1970s when she went back to school and worked for the Oregon State University Extension Service in Sherman County.

After the death of her husband in 1983, she went to Oregon State University and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees. She continued to work in Sherman and Wasco counties until she earned a Doctorate degree in family education from Gonzaga University at Spokane, Wash., at which time she went to work for the University of Nevada/Reno in Las Vegas. She continued to work there until her death.

She enjoyed her job, her home in Las Vegas and traveling with her children and grandchildren.
