Four Seasons and Wonder Workshop's

Take A Stand: An Underground Railroad Children's Quilt

The Manhattan Arts Center is pleased to feature the exibits "Four Seasons" and "Take A Stand: An Underground Railroad Children's Quilt," which is generously sponsored by Olivia Collins and Tony Jurich. The public is invited to attend an opening reception Friday, January 8 from 5-7 pm.

"Four Seasons" is the exibit featuring the work of four women arists from Nebraska who share a 30 year relationship marked by the uniqueness of each woman. As diverse as the individuals and their work, they collectively and singly have created in many media regionally, nationally and internationally. Patsy Smith masters in water-based abstracts, Judy Greff in interpretive acrylic, Sammy Lynn is batik, padded fiber and Amy Sadie is printmaking.

In the front gallery is Wonder Workshop's "Take A Stand: An Underground Railroad Children's Quilt." The exhibit features a "quilt" made up of drawings of the underground railroad drawn by local area children. This quilt has traveled to schools, and we are delighted to have it visit MAC.

The exhibits are free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm. The Manhattan Arts Center is located at 1520 Poyntz Ave, is handicapped accessible, and parking is free.

Additional funding comes from the City of Manhattan and MAC members and friends.
