FOE discusses various programs and fund raisers

The meeting opened in regular form, presided over by Melinda Smelley with 12 members present. No Visiting members. Roll call of officers all responded except three. They were excused. Minutes of the previous meeting was and approved as read. The following applications were read: Linda Foster and Tammy Granados. Teresa read thank you cards from The Roberts Family, a thank you for our donation to Friends of Animals, and a resignation letter from Johanna Spencer. The bills were approved to be paid.

The Eagles have a program called Dimes for Diabetes Research Center. We will put out jars at our Bingo nights for donations.

It was discussed that we have a fund raiser with proceeds to the Diabetes Research Center in Des Moines, IA. A committee was formed regarding this fund raiser.

The Auxiliary will submit a member for the Heart Queen for District 6.

A letter was read and approved that Melinda Smelley be put in nomination as a State Officer.

Melinda said we have been helping Elise Ballard who is 3 years old and battling leukemia. We held a special meeting to donate money to help the family with their expenses; we also collected money from the.bingo plays.

Melinda said Friends of Animals has a link on their web site to vote and you can vote everyday for a chance they could win $10,000.

The Auxiliary will be updating the by-laws. It was approved for Melinda to appoint a new inside and outside guard. Linda Sullivan will be the inside guard and Debbie Gee will be the outside guard.

Melinda asked to go to MINK Conference.

Mary Conrow read the Trustee Report.

Special drawing was won by Shannon Holley and Mystery Gift by Madelyn Brown.

All Business having been disposed of, in accord with the laws of the order, the Auxiliary closed in due form to meet again at 7:30 PM on March 8, 2010.
