Community Thrift Store to award ten $100 scholarships

The Community Thrift Store board met April 12 at the City Hall in Council Grove with Helen Jensen calling the meeting to order and giving the prayer. Roll call was answered by nine members.

Minutes were approved as read. Betty Dutton gave the treasurer's report which was approved. Correspondence was a letter from the Council Grove Public Library and thank-you notes from Helen Jensen, Dun-lap Methodist Church, and the Salvation Army.

Helen Jensen, coordinator, reported that things were going good at the Thrift Store. A $ 150 donation was received. Larry Willis took care of gravel but we may need more.

It was voted to give a memorial for Eunice Herpich, a donation to the Council Grove Public Library, and ten $100 scholarships.

Joan Worley moved the meeting be adjourned which was seconded by Lola True. It carried.

Members present were Joan Worley, Betty Dutton, Lola True, Audrey Cashman, Helen Jensen, Delores Eldridge, Darlene Cobb, Mary Ann Peterman, and Kay Johnson.
