Barbara Craft will not run for re-election

Barbara Craft of Junction City has announced she will not seek a fifth term as the state representative for the 65th district. The 65th district includes the Alta Vista area. In announcing her plans, Ms. Craft said, although she has enjoyed the.work and challenges of being a state representative, it has been very time consuming and she has gotten behind on things at home that need to be addressed. She also plans to spend more time with family and friends.

In making the statement to not seek re-election, Ms. Craft said,

"I have really enjoyed the work of being a representative for the area and appreciate the support and confidence the people in Alta Vista have shown In me. I enjoyed getting to know so many people in that area. It has been a tough time in state government, we've had to try to make the best of worst situations. Although there have been many challenges, especially some of the recent challenges, it truly has been an honor to serve the people of this area."
