The Rolling Prairie Senior Center Board met for it's regular monthly meeting June 14th. Lana Allen called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered with 6 members present, one absent, also present was our site manager Judi Stewart.

Minutes of last months meeting were approved as read with no corrections. Motion carried.

Nellie Hultgren gave our financial report, motion by Bob Crable and seconded by Jon Comp to approve her report. Motion carried.

Judi gave our site managers report, there were 511 meals, served for the month, we had 12 volunteers with 132 volunteer hours and our quilters with 33. Our senior van delivered 134 meals and drove 668 miles, these miles included passengers to and from the center, doctor appointments and various trips to surrounding areas. Our nutritional Education: Potassium and Iron Rich Foods. Our Health & Welfare Education consisted of blood pressure checks by Caroline Vonfeldt, and our exercises. We enjoyed our usual activities, had a wonderful Mother's Day dinner complete with a flower for each mother, plus our birthday dinner. Two thank you notes were received, one from White City school for our donation to the prom committee, and one from the Topeka Veterans for our donation of puzzles and lap robes that were sent. Also presented were our monthly bills. Motion by Bob Crable and seconded by Frieda Nelson to approve Judi's report and payment of bills. Motion carried.

A few dates to remember: Our Father's Day dinner will be June 18th and our Birthday dinner will be June 25th. On July 26th, the Rolling Prairie Senior Center will sponsor the White City Community blood drive, from 2-6 p.m. at the community building. For an appointment, call Judi (349-2813). Walk-ins are welcome.

Due to funding cuts all senior centers are feeling the crunch, we would like to encourage our community to come to the center and enjoy one of our noon meals, the price is reasonable and the meals are delicious. Our cook, Phyllis, does a really good job of preparing the meals. We need to keep our monthly meal count up so we can keep our center open. The senior centers are so vital to the communities, they provide a service that is desperately needed.Come on down and support our center. Thank You! Motion to adjourn at 10:18
