White City Schools recipient of $2, 500 from Monsanto Fund thanks to local farmers, Bill and Judy Paige

Bill and Judy Paige, local White City farmers, were selected as the winner of the America's Farmers Grow Communities ' program, which gives farmers the opportunity to win $2, 500 for their favorite local non-profit organizations. The awards are-throught Monsanto Fund. The Pagies have designated White City High School to receive the award in Morris County. John Brenneman of Monsanto was on hand, along with the Paiges, last Friday morning to present the check to the school

The Paiges are both graduates of White City High School as are their children and grandchildren with two grandsons still in high school. The Paiges are also third generation farmers in the area.

In its initial year, the America's Farmers Grow Communities program has provided nearly 500 famers in 10 states with $2, 500 awards to direct to their favorite non-profit organization. On September 1, the program expaneded nationwide to 1, 201 counties in 38 states.

The program is part of a broad commitment by Monsanto Fund to highlight the important contributions farmers make every day to society by helping them grow their local communities. More than 20, 000 farmers participated in the program, which is designed to benefit non-profit groups such as ag youth, schools and other civic organizations.
