St. Pauls LWML prepared Thanksgiving cookie plates during November meeting

St. Paul's LWML met on Thursday, November 12. Roll call was answered with a verse from 2 Peter by six members. Dorothy opened the meeting by reading Psalms 8.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Treasurer's report was read and approved. A thank you was read from Sharon for serving at her auction.

Connie reported sending nine greeting cards to members of the congregation. There were 42 bulletins mailed out and 14 delivered to members missing services.

Dorothy reported $302.76 was collected for Mites at the Spring Rally in Wamego. Our group was volunteered to Help with decorations for the State Convention in Junction City next year.

We have been helping support a seminary student, Brandt Klawitter. Brandt has now completed his studies and we voted to find another student to help.

We voted to send a check of $50.00 to fund a "Table Talk" meal at the Luther House on Kansas State campus for one of their Sunday night Bible study meals. This was in appreciation of them participating in our service. Vicar King Crawford was a guest speaker at church last month along with several of the youth who attend these study groups, including our own Jessica Zimmerman.

We voted to purchase poinsettias for decorating the church which we do every year. We have an altar vase liner leaking, so Connie will purchase a pair of new liners.

We chose the Christian charities that we would donate to this year and gifts we give annually to our staff. We will have our annual Christmas luncheon at the Hays House at noon on December 10. We encourage everyone to please join us. Let Connie or Dorothy know if you can come.

We worked on our books for next year and decided to have group-led Bible study.

We then adjourned to prepare the Thanksgiving cookie plates that we give every year and the meeting was closed with the Lord's Prayer.
