CopyWanda L. Lager, 45, of Aviston, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at her home.
She was born March 18, 1965 in Highland, daughter of Leander and Delores Schrage, nee Loepker, and they both survive in Breese.
She married Gerry Lager on October 22, 1988 in Aviston and he survives at home.
Also surviving are three daughters, Hannah Lager, Madeline Lager and Sophia Lager, all of Aviston; brothers and sisters Jan (Tom) Hustedde of Breese, Jerry (Pam) Schrage of Suffolk, Virginia, Ron (Peggy) Schrage of St. Rose, Cindi (Dan) Liening of Breese, "Butch" (Tammy) Schrage of Damiansville, and Debi (Tom) Benhoff of Breese; father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Ruth Lager of Aviston; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Lynn and Bob Rinella, Larry and Connie Lager and Jackie and Charlie Chiarolanza, all of Aviston, and Elaine and Bob Herbst of St. Charles, Missouri; nieces, nephews, and a great nephew.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Anton & Wilhelmine Loepker; paternal grandparents Theodore and Gertrude Schrage; and a brother-in-law, Mark Fields.
Mrs. Lager was a contract administrator at Scott Air Force Base. She was a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston, a former PSR teacher for the St. Francis Sunday School program, and a former member of the Aviston School Board. She was a graduate of Central Community High School class of 1983 and received a degree in Business Administration in finance from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in 1992. She very much loved her family.
The funeral was Tuesday from St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman and Deacon Charlie Litteken officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Kanzius Cancer Research Fund and will be received through Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston. Condolences to
