Tatum ISD's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) held its first meeting of the year on Monday evening, September 14, 2009 in the Community Room.

The main order of business was electing new officers for the 2009-2010 school year. After faithfully serving on the board for three years, Jennifer Kindred stepped down from PTO President. Two candidates, Jenny Mathais and Candice Mace, were nominated. Jenny Mathais was then selected as President and Mace was elected Vice President. Other board members selected were Secretary, Angela Jackson, Treasurer, Nakita Hall, Parlimentaria,, Kryston Gibson and Historian, Amy Haden.

The PTO supports the school through several events and fundraisers including the Fall Fest, Tatum Christmas Parade, Santa's Secret Shop, the Christmas Program and the award of a scholarship to a graduating senior each year. The cost to join the PTO is $4.00 for parents and high school students.

The PTO board members would like to see an increase in parent participation this year. If you are interested in volunteering or just for more information or to attend a meeting, contact Tatum lSD.
