Curtis LaFountain Sr.

Curtis LaFountain Sr., age 55, of Dunseith, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2010, in his home.

Curtis Karl LaFountain Sr. was born on February 4, 1954 in Garrison, ND to Alex and Evelyn (LaFromboise) LaFountain. He passed away on January 8, 2010 in his home. Curtis and his life long companion Doraldeen "Dean" De-Coteau lived in Dunseith together. He was the proud father of three sons, Corey, Curtis Jr. and Chance, two step-sons, Kenneth and Raymond, and two step-daughters, Denise and Desirae. Curtis worked at the Sky Dancer Casino in Belcourt in the maintenance department. He enjoyed laughing, teasing and having fun with his family and friends. Curtis liked cooking, playing bingo, bragging about Ford trucks and spending time with his family and friends. Curtis was a very kind and loving man to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Curtis is survived by his loving companion, Doraldeen "Dean" De-Coteau of Dunseith; sons, Corey (Shelly) LaVallie of Belcourt, Curtis (Peggy) LaFountain Jr. of Bismarck, and Chance (Carmen Peltier) LaFountain of Belcourt; stepsons, Kenneth (Kim Trottier) Reed of Grand Forks and Raymond (Annette) Reed Jr. of Belcourt; stepdaughters, Denise (Michael) Panucci of Minot and Desirae (Sam Martinez) Armstrong of Minot; 14 grandchildren; and sisters, Germaine (Bud) Muir of Johnstown, Lucinda (Vernon) Morin of Belcourt, Velma Morin of Belcourt and Luella

"Wally" (Merle) Allard of Belcourt.

Casket bearers were Terry De-Coteau, Dave St. Claire, Mark Allery, Vincent Muir, Stacey Morin, Sam Martinez, Michael Panucci, and Ryan Morin.

Honorary Bearers are all sisters, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Music was provided by Troy DeCoteau, the Prayer Group, and the Drum Group.

Readers were Kim Trottier and Nichole Davis. Eucharistic gifts were provided by Peggy LaFountain and Carmen Peltier. Pall was placed by all of Curtis's children.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 15, 2010 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, with Fr. Jeff Eppler, S.O.L.T. presiding.

Burial will be in St. Benedicts Catholic Cemetery in the spring of 2010. Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, was in charge of arrangements.
