Thomas "Tommy" Belgarde

Turtle Mountain Star of Rolla, North Dakota

Thomas "Tommy" Belgarde, age 51, of Belcourt, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010, in Trinity Hospital, Minot.

Thomas "Tommy" James Belgarde was born on July 23, 1958, in Belcourt, to James and Emma (Parisien) Belgarde. He attended Belcourt High School and went on to further his education at the Turtle Mountain Community College in Belcourt.

Tommy was the proud father of a daughter, Shannan. He was united in marriage to Bonita Lilley in 1982 and together they had Devin and Dillon.

They later divorced. He later married Tina Demery on September 1, 2001, and together they had a daughter, Alix.

Tommy was also blessed with two stepchildren, Kristy and Marissa. He was well known in the community for his wonderful musical ability and was one of the last original members of the "Rockin' Country Band' in Belcourt. He loved his music and playing for people, and had been playing since he was 14.

Tommy was liked by everyone. He enjoyed bingo on occasion and loved time spent with all of his family and friends.

Tommy worked at the outreach center in Belcourt and at the Turtle Mountain Retirement Home for many years. He will be lovingly missed by all of his family and friends.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Tina Belgarde of Belcourt; daughters, Shannan Nadeau of Mandan and Alix Belgarde of Belcourt; sons, Devin and Dillon Belgarde, both of Belcourt; stepdaughters, Kristy Lilley of Red Lake, Minnesota, and Marissa Demery of Belcourt; grand-children, Rhea Nadeau, Aaron Peltier, William Gladue, Emma Gladue, Zachary Gladue, Bryton Belgarde, Samara DeCoteau, and Isabella Brunelle; sisters, Marie Har-rell of Piano, Texas, and Eunice Phillips of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; brothers, Eddie Parisien of Marysville, Washington; Rene Belgarde of Dunseith, and Clifford Belgarde of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

The eulogy was given by Joe Parisien.

Casket Bearers were Rene St. Pierre, Arnie LaRocque, Brian Johnson, Jerry Demery, Denver LaRocque, Kyle Azure, Daniel DeCoteau, and Keith St. Pierre.

Altar Servers are Rhea Nadeau and Aaron Peltier.

Readers were Allison Morin and Kim Gladue.

Eucharistic Gifts were brought up by Yolanda Belgarde and Michelle Belgarde.

Music was provided by Joe Parisien, Terry Baker, Eddie King Johnson, and Troy DeCoteau.

Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, with Fr. Bob Cronin, S.O.L.T. presiding.

Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, rural Belcourt, following funeral services.

Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, was in charge of arrangements.
