CopyMass of the Christian Burial for Susan Counts-Tipton age 52 of Dunseith, was held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Michael's The Archangel Catholic Church in Dunseith.
Burial was in the St. Louis Cemetery also of Dunseith.
Officiating at the service was the Reverend Father Jeff Eppler S.O.L.T. Special music was provided.
Casket bearers were her nephews, Chris LaFloe, Dennis LaFloe, Kyle Davis, Terrance DeCoteau Jr., Joe Belgarde and Chris Schroeder.
Susan Counts-Tipton, a daughter of Van and Mable Rose (Parisien) Counts, was born on May 12, 1958 at Belcourt. She began her education in Flapdreu, South Dakota, and completed her education in Dunseith.
Following her education, she moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where she met Billy Tipton. When they met she told him that she was going to teach him something. They moved to Kentucky for a time. Susan and Billy were later married. They returned to Dunseith in 2007.
She loved singing tippy-toe. Her favorite show was American Idol. She enjoyed listening to Heppie Harry. She enjoyed dancing and raising the spirits of people that were sick or down. She loved to watch her nephews play football and basketball. He favorite saying was, "I went coast to coast on a piece of toast."
Susan passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in her home, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
She is survived by her husband Billy of Dunseith; a daughter, Missy Counts of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Cheryl (Dennis) LaFloe, Karen (Leslie) Counts and Myrna (Terry) DeCoteau, all of Dunseith, Marquita Counts of Minot, Yvonne (Fabian) Strong of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; brothers, Robert (Vicky) Counts of Belcourt and Dale Counts of Denver, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Colleen Reinhardt and numerous aunts and uncles.
Arrangements are with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
