CopyLaVerna Gores called on Jean Anderson Sunday afternoon on some VFW business. She also visited Doris Anderson later in the day. Doris had three friends from Canada visit her that day.
Sunday, LaVerna Gores was a visitor and dinner guest of Andy and Helen Gores, Ashley, Keenan and Taryn Gores. Jade Gores was home to help get the horses ready for the Draft Horse Show.
Sunday evening, LaVerna visited at the Ben, Yvonne and Carrie Longie home.
On Friday, August 28, Larry Leonard Jr., Elsie Jungling and LaVerna Gores went to Rolette Senior Center and had lunch. Later, Rosemary LaCroix and Lavina Lemieux joined the group and held a board of director's meeting.
Tuesday, September 1, LaVerna Gores went to Rugby in the morning for inspection of VFW Auxiliary and helped with their problem. LaVerna is 6th District VFW president. Then on Tuesday evening, LaVerna went to Sheyenne for inspection of their auxiliary.
August volunteers at the senior center deliverying meals were Val Bush, Terry Mills, Rod Ostby, Betty Keegan, Cheryl and Janessa Bonn, Joyce Rogers, Kerry Lent?., Fern Simons, Gail Meier, Kernis Pantsari and Betty Heinz. Van drivers were Bernice Boppre and Alfred and Hazel Juntunen. Helping at the center with setting tables and cleanup were Susan Roussin, Bill Boucher, Grace Morin, Alice Laturnus and Rudy Ryyth.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Roger Sutton who passed away on Friday. Sympathy is also extended to the family of Robert Crosby whose funeral was September 3.
Monday, August 31, Lucille Rham, of Rock Lake, was a caller at the home of LaVerna Gores. They took care of some VFW business.
The youth group of the Presbyterian Church of Rolla and St. John kicked off the new school year at Rolla City Park with a cookout and some wet, wild and muddy games.
Esther Krumwiede attended the wedding of Teresa and Chad Johnson on Saturday at Park River.
