A pair of young children escaped injury early Thursday when the car they were riding in was allegedly stolen.

According to reports, Michelle Allery had buckled her four-year-old son and three-year-old daughter into their car seats before going back into her home to get her 1 L-month-old baby.

When she came back outside, she saw her car pulling away with the kids still in the backseat.

Allery lives behind Wayne's Jack and Jill, along an alley.

After seeing the car take off, Allery said she began running after it only to witness the driver throwing her three-year-old out of the car window. The driver then reportedly took off again.

Allery's boyfriend, Justin Grant, then called police while she grabbed another vehicle and drove off in the direction of the driver. The chase neared the Dunseith High School where the driver pulled over and put the four-year-old on the side of the road.

Allery grabbed her son and contacted other family members.

The 16-year-old driver was eventually found at the baseball diamond, located behind the high school, having allegedly driven across the field, through the baseball dugout, crashing into a fence and totaling the car. He was found nude, clinging to a fence.

Rolette County Sheriff. Tony Sims, declined to identify the boy, saying he was facing multiple charges in juvenile court, including auto theft, kidnapping, consumption of alcohol and property damage, among others.

Sims said the boy sustained minor cuts and was evaluated at the Indian Health Service, where he briefly escaped, but was recaptured and transferred to the correctional center in Devils Lake.

Sims said there's a pick up order for the boy from Grand Forks.
